Baby blessing and getting in the swing of things

I went back to work this week....I have mixed feelings about it. I knew I'd miss her while I was gone...but I didn't expect how much! So I am just working 5-9 am and I am grateful she sleeps around 6 hours a night so I can pump at night for David to feed her. It has been really fun to get back to work and train clients again!

Guess what! David is going to work at Energy Explosion as a personal trainer too! He's going to work evenings and Saturday mornings. We are both soooo stinking excited! It's such a great place to work and I know he will have more fun than any other job he could get right now. So grateful!

We did bless Savannah on the 21st, it was awesome and surreal that we have a baby to bless!! David's family was in town and it was so nice to have so many family members there. I will post more blessing pictures later.

Savannah's first visit to Smith & Edwards

When David was growing up his family would come down to North Ogden for a couple weeks in the summer and play with cousins and swim at grandma's. One of the highlights for David was going to Smith & Edwards which is a store that has everything....really it's so random. It's kinda' a combination of hardware, army surplus, kitchen and camping, wrangler clothing store, hunting....and the best part lots and lots of penny candies and treats. So we continue to go every summer and look at everything and then get candy!

3 weeks

I love having visitors! I love showing off Savannah...It's like grade school show and tell! Here is my dear friend Monica who just loved Savannah. Savannah actually doesn't look all that small with petite people like Monica. 

I have had several visits from clients and my bosses. I'm am constantly impressed with how much people are willing to give and how thoughtful. We have had to buy hardly anything!

Savannah went in for her 2 week check up and she's 7.12 lbs and 21.5 inches. She's actually getting a teeny tiny bit of chub on her legs and hands...at least as far as I can tell. She's eating great and I think we are getting better and better at it. The Dr. had me waking her up to feed her every 3-4 hours and at night I can barely keep her awake. Any tips? I am going to try not waking her up and see how long she sleeps before getting hungry. 

I love right after I feed her these faces she makes looking up at me while/after I burp her. And then I kiss her face because I just can't help it!

I also love her sleeping positions...several pictures of arms in weird positions :)

First book reading! I am so excited to go to the library and read to her...and pretend she understands! I love kids books.

Daddy loves his cuddle time

We went to 7 peaks again and then we hiked Stewart Falls yesterday with our friends Brooke and Christian. It was beautiful and cool, perfect for our first hike. I survived, but had leg aches last night. It was so fun to get out and move! David and I have this goal to keep doing fun things outside with Savannah. I think we are off to a good start.

People were funny about Savannah being strapped to David. Most everyone asked how old and said how small she is. One guy even asked, "What's that?" ha really? what else could it be?

Everything is going great! I'm feeling better and better each day. My new goal is to start walking everyday...we'll see how it goes. The baby fat is driving me crazy-I know I need to just be patient-but I'm not. Savannah is awesome! I'm having so much fun. She is eating well and sleeping pretty well too! She's up to 7 lbs so I can sometimes let her go longer than 3 hours to if she's still sleeping.  After meeting with the pediatrician this week I will see if I can go a little longer at night-especially since I have to spend 10 minutes waking her up.

We spent the 4th with Eric and Nakita Ellis- BBQ, a little reservoir swim, fireworks and sugar cookies with Pop Rocks- we love hanging out with them.

Reese being an awesome big cousin!

David told her she was so good at holding babies. Reese said, "Yeah I'm actually really good at holding babies. My mom teacheded me." So cute- She always remembered Savannah's name during the whole pregnancy and told me that she loves Savannah. 

My friend Amber came and took a ton of pictures- Savannah was a little punk and wouldn't stay/fall asleep :) I will post those pictures when I get them.

David helped me out to get her to fall asleep. This is what I woke up to- It's his favorite part on the weekends to get her out and cuddle. I LOVE IT!

I am so entertained by the faces she makes that I sometimes just stare at her and get nothing done :) but I don't really feel bad. The other day I was laughing at her funny faces (I only got a few of them on camera) only to look down and realized she pooped ALL OVER me. Yeah I'm wearing white gym shorts too. She got me good- no wonder she had this awesome grin-there I was thinking she was SOO cute and she was laughing inside. Trouble.
