I am very sad to leave D.C. I can't believe it has already been 3 months! Things I'll miss:
~The D.C. 3rd Ward. David and I have just fallen in love with this ward. When people ask what has been the highlight here in D.C. my response is our ward here. I love it! The people are genuine, have open hearts, stick to the basics in the gospel, welcoming, and diverse. Having the diversity has helped the ward be so welcoming.
~Trader Joe's employee's. Never have a met such an crazy/weird/fun people! I love it. It isn't uncommon for coworkers to break out in song or dance or BOTH! I especially love Roxie and Evan that I work the most with. We laugh all day and they have been very respectful of my beliefs. Even if they don't agree with all of them. We sometimes laugh because we are SO different, but we can still have great discussions. Yet, we can still get along so well. There is another guy I call Grumpy Vic that I will also miss. His moods change rapidly from ecstatic to ticked off but always he's nice (compared to others) to me. We have also had some great discussions.~Bus rides....I actually didn't think I would miss them but today on the way to church I realized I will. The 16th street that our church is on is beautiful! With beautiful churches, seriously hundreds of churches....I think the number is 400.... and beautiful town homes and houses. So fun to drive up.\
~ The metro....just a little bit.
~Museums and history!!! This is a big one. David and i keep wondering what we ever did back in Provo for fun! It seems so small and unexplorable...? I just made up that word. We will miss having endless amounts of places to see and so many of them being free!
~I'll miss being a minority here....that sounds silly but I love being so different. I don't drink alcohol, or coffee, or swear. Those three things alone set me apart!
~Restaurants. We have been eating out once or twice a week and I love it! I'm definitely going to try for once a week when we get back.
In some ways I am really excited to go back to Utah.
~See some of the family.
~To live in a house.
~Have a car.
~Walk to church...and it will only take 5 minutes!
~My personal training job...except the 4 am alarm clock.
