Sorry the pictures aren't really organized...There were too many and I got lazy.

Labor story: Saturday June 22, 2013
I woke up a lot Friday night with back aches (I'm guessing now that it was back labor?) I woke up at 6:15 for work and while I was putting on my shoes I had my first contraction! I wasn't certain so I walked back upstairs and almost told David that I thought I might be having contractions....but then I wasn't sure so I just drove to work anyway. Ha. I had two more contractions on my way to work and decided it was the real deal! I called David and Mom. I text my clients and boss that wouldn't be coming in to work. And drove home--contractions while driving-no fun!
I got home and David had everything packed and ready by the door. I told him, "it's hard to drive during contractions." He wanted to go to the hospital right then but I wanted to lay down and look up online to make sure I was having the contractions frequently enough because I WASN'T going to be sent home from the hospital. But David was worried and I was having contractions every few minutes so we took off!
We checked in, and did all that paper crap. Luckily they let David sign because there was no way I was going to sit and sign stuff. I am not able to handle pain very well. I don't know how you Mom's do it without Epidural!!! I know if it wasn't an option maybe I could have done it....but seriously?! Two hours of contractions was enough for me (that's how long from before work until epidural), got the epidural which I did better with because it's short intense pain and then relief.
We watched a few movies and I ate peach flavored ice chips-which I loved and I had them several times over the next few days! I can't remember at what points I was dilated to what-darn. I know 2 days earlier I was at 3 cm and the Dr said he'd buy us dinner if Savannah didn't come in the next week-that gave me hope but I also knew she wasn't coming until she was good'n'ready. Anyway, every time they would check my dilation Savannah's heart rate would drop really low-almost like she was saying, "don't touch me people!" Her heart rate dropped again after the first time pushing so the Dr was pretty worried. Even pulled out the forceps-which I really really didn't want to use. Thank goodness her heart rate was fine for the rest of the pushes. I had to wear an oxygen mask a lot during labor because of her heart rate-didn't love the mask or they worry.
I pushed for about 30 minutes and she came! 6 lbs 11 oz and 20 inches, and a gentle cry. She was beautiful from the beginning! Her head was a little misshapen but her face and eyes-oh man, that feeling of meeting her. I can't describe it. She definitely has David's eyes and we think she looks like me in the nose and mouth.
Needless to say we are in love-something fierce! I think my all-time favorite thing is watching David fall in love with little Savannah-his face while he holds her-especially the first time just gave me that unbearably happy feeling. You know? The kind that you can't contain and all the pressure and love feels like it's squishing your chest and heart? Welcome to our life little Savannah- I know it won't all be easy but I'm still can't help my excitement. I just want time to slow down.

Awww, so neat to hear your story. There's nothing like seeing your baby for the first time. Instant love. You can tell she is just a sweetheart. Love you guys!
