We love LOVE LOVE Lake Tahoe! I think we will make it an annual thing while we are here in the west. If you haven't been there...you SHOULD go! Of course we landed in the one no-so-great-weather week. But, we still had a blast! It was just what we needed. 5 days away, reading what we wanted (mostly for David to have a break from text books), sleeping, sitting by the campfire, making new friends, and most importantly sitting on the beach. Just sitting. Funny how rejuvenating some sand and sun can be. The water there is perfect! Perfectly clear, perfectly blue, and perfect temperature.
So yeah, the weather. Rainy in the afternoon but we did have one solid day of sun. Rain is our curse...we could go to the Sahara and it would rain on us. Oh well :) But then, on our last day the smoke from the massive Yosemite fire blew over us! It was 100 miles away but still. By Thursday afternoon we couldn't see across the lake. By Friday morning it was harder to breath and you couldn't see 400 yards across the lake. Took us several hours of driving to get out of it too. I worried about Savy because I was feeling sick from the smoke.
Yet again I put a ton of pictures on and I tried to be selective....tried. Savannah was a gem. The drive, the camping, the fires. Man, she's TOO good....kinda' freaking me out. 'What!? A kid of Nicole's peaceful and sweet!? Strange.' Yeah I know you all were thinking it :)
Angel
We even love the tress here! Ponderosa Pines, Sequoia's, and some aspen.
Our beach was a two minute walk from our campsite.
One day we will get a cute family pic....we always look ridiculous in 'selfies'...good thing we have adorable Savannah
She was so patient while we set things up and while I made breakfast...She looks like an elf when the beanie slides up :) so cute.
Even the Nike's (socks) were no match for those constantly moving legs.
The water is SOO clear...not sure about that dark spot in the picture though
Dad was making us a fire! I love love campfires and so did Savannah!
Weird yet pretty smokey skies.
Campfire cuddle time
One of our favorite views around the lake. Usually when there isn't SOO much cloud cover the water is bright blue and green. Here it looks mostly like BC Canada!
More of our beach
She slept in the sleeping bag with a us a few night because it got really cold-no we didn't mind :)
Our new friends Blossom and John! We had so much fun talking and sitting on the beach with them! Great conversations. They loved Savannah! Loved her.
Does anyone else get really suspicious of people that are really really nice?? it sounds stupid but whenever someone stops to talk about Savannah I think they want to take her....ha well no one did. Blossom was super cautious with Savy-"oh she seems cold" or "keep her out of the sun John"
It was nice to meet and hang out with them. We wouldn't mind running into them again at Tahoe next year.
Car rides
Savannah was again awesome! I would pump and then we would stop and feed her and let her out of the car seat for a few minutes. The only times she had a hard time were my fault for not being fast enough on the pump-but nursing takes sooo long sometimes.
I favorite thing is while in the car those long little legs are just going a hundred miles a minute and you can hear her feet rubbing on the car seat- I love that sound. And those legs are all I can see when I look back.

This makes me want to go to Tahoe! I love the pictures of you and Savannah and her cute smiles.
